Instant Dosa is a quick and easy variation of the traditional South Indian dosa. This recipe is perfect for busy mornings or when you're craving a delicious and healthy meal without the long fermentation process. Made with simple ingredients like rice flour and wheat flour, this Instant Dosa offers a crispy and tasty dish that can be prepared in just a few minutes. It's a great option for breakfast, lunch, or even as a snack.

Procedure

Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, wheat flour, and salt thoroughly.

Step 2: Add Water and Cumin Seeds

Gradually add water to the dry mixture while stirring to form a thin batter. The consistency should be thin and pourable, similar to that of pancake batter. Add the cumin seeds and mix well.

Step 3: Preheat the Dosa Pan

Place a dosa pan or tawa on medium-high heat and let it preheat thoroughly.

Step 4: Grease the Pan

Lightly grease the hot pan with a few drops of oil to prevent the dosa from sticking.

Step 5: Pour the Batter onto the Pan

Using a small cup or ladle, pour the batter onto the pan starting from the edges and moving towards the center in a circular motion. Since the batter is thin, it will spread by itself.

Step 6: Drizzle Oil Over the Dosa

Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges of the dosa and over any holes or pores on the surface to help it cook evenly and become crispy.

Step 7: Cover and Cook

Cover the dosa with a lid and cook on high flame for about a minute or until the edges start to lift and the surface looks cooked.

Step 8: Serve the Dosa

Once the dosa is cooked and the edges are crispy, gently lift it from the pan and serve hot. There is no need to cook the other side.
