Grated dry coconut powder: 1 tbsp
For talimpu (tempering, tadkha):
Dry red chilly (Endumirapa, Lal mirch): 1
Bengal gram (Senagapappu, Chana dal): 1/2 tbsp
Black gram (Minapappu, Urad dal): 1/2 tbsp
Cumin seeds (Jeelakarra, Jeera): 1/4 tbsp
Mustard seeds (Avalu, Rai): 1/4 tbsp
Curry leaves (Karivepaku, Kare patte): Few
Salt (Uppu, Namak): As per taste
Red chilly powder (Kaaram): 1 tbsp
Oil (Nune, Thel): 1-2 tbsp
Procedure
Step 1: Peel and chop the raw banana into small pieces
Note: Cut the banana when ready for cooking.
Step 2: Pre-heat oil for talimpu and temper the spices
Pre-heat oil in a pan for tempering (talimpu). Let the flame stay at medium. When the oil is sufficiently hot, add and temper the spices one after another in a second gap: Bengal gram, black gram, dry red chilies, cumin seeds, and mustard seeds.
Step 3: Add curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds
Step 4: Add chopped banana pieces
Step 5: Add turmeric powder and stir-fry for 1 minute
Step 6: Close it with lid for 1 minute
Step 7: Add required salt and stir-fry for 2 minutes
Step 8: Add dry coconut powder and stir-fry for a minute
Step 9: Add red chili powder, stir it once, and turn off the flame
