Mudda Pappu | Plain Dal | Chappa Pappu

Mudda pappu is prepared with kandi pappu (red gram, split yellow pigeon peas, toor dal). This is regular food prepared in South India mainly by Telugu's. It is prepared for all festivals, weddings, any other functions and goes well with many other curries. Mudda pappu when mixed with clarified butter (ghee) and steamed rice taste really good.

Main ingredient: Red gram
Ingredients
Red gram (kandi pappu, toor dal): 1 cup
Clarified butter (ghee, neyyi): 2 tbsp
Salt: As per taste
Water: 1&half glass (375 ml approximately)
Procedure:
Step 1: Clean and wash red gram. Add required water to it (3 cups of water for 1 cup of red gram) and cook in a pressure cooker up to 3 whistles in high flame and 2 minutes in low flame (according to one's cooker)
Step 2: Mash it with spatula by adding salt and 2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)
Take it into serving bowl
Yummy mudda pappu is ready to serve :)
Serve it with steamed rice, clarified butter (ghee) with combination like mango pickle, any pulusu (sorakaya pulusu)
