Ingredients
- White Sesame Seeds (Nuvvulu): 2 bowls
Jaggery (Bellam): 1 bowl
Procedure
Step 1: Fry the Sesame Seeds
Take 2 bowls of sesame seeds (nuvvulu) and fry them for 2 minutes until they turn golden brown. Frying enhances the flavor and ensures the seeds blend well with the jaggery.
-
Step 2: Prepare the Jaggery
Take 1 bowl of fully mashed jaggery (bellam). Ensure the jaggery is properly mashed to mix smoothly with the sesame seeds.
-
Step 3: Blend Sesame Seeds and Jaggery
Allow the fried sesame seeds to cool down. Then, take a blender and combine both the sesame seeds (nuvvulu) and jaggery (bellam). Blend the mixture for 1 minute until it forms a consistent paste.
-
Step 4: Shape the Laddu
Immediately after blending, when the mixture is still pliable, shape it into small round laddus (balls). This should be done before the blend hardens to ensure the laddus hold their shape.

Sesame seeds are a rich source of calcium, and jaggery provides iron, making this laddu a nutritious choice. Besides being tasty, it is also beneficial for individuals suffering from arthritis.
