Ingredients
Rice flour : 4 bowls
Sanagapindi (Gram flour) : 2 bowls
Refined oil : 1 KG
Vaamu (Tymol seeds) : 1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder : 1 tablespoon
Butter or ghee : 1/4th bowl
Salt : 1 tablespoon (to your taste)

Procedure
Step 1: Preparing the Tymol Seeds
Blend vaamu (tymol seeds) into a fine powder and set it aside.
Step 2: Mixing the Flours
Take rice flour and gram flour in a basin. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and mix them thoroughly.
Step 3: Adding Butter and Spices
Now, add the blended vaamu (tymol seeds) powder and butter or ghee (heated) to the flour mixture in the basin.
Step 4: Preparing the Dough
Gradually add water to the mixture and knead it to a medium-thick consistency.
Step 5: Heating the Oil
Heat 1 KG of refined oil in a heavy-bottomed vessel on high flame, ensuring it reaches the right temperature for frying.
Step 6: Filling the Chakrala Gidda
Take a small portion of the prepared dough and place it inside the chakrala gidda (a traditional tool for shaping the snack).
Step 7: Frying the Dough
Slowly press the dough through the chakrala gidda in a spiral shape into the hot oil. Fry until it turns golden brown.
Step 8: Removing from Oil
Once the Kaaram Poosa turns golden brown, carefully remove it from the oil and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
