Ingredients

Rice flour : 4 bowls

Procedure

Step 1: Preparing the Tymol Seeds

Blend vaamu (tymol seeds) into a fine powder and set it aside.

Take rice flour and gram flour in a basin. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and mix them thoroughly.

Now, add the blended vaamu (tymol seeds) powder and butter or ghee (heated) to the flour mixture in the basin.

Gradually add water to the mixture and knead it to a medium-thick consistency.

Heat 1 KG of refined oil in a heavy-bottomed vessel on high flame, ensuring it reaches the right temperature for frying.

Take a small portion of the prepared dough and place it inside the chakrala gidda (a traditional tool for shaping the snack).

Step 7: Frying the Dough

Slowly press the dough through the chakrala gidda in a spiral shape into the hot oil. Fry until it turns golden brown.
